Dr. Cynthia Cheng, DC, LAc is BACK! (by popular demand)
Dr. Ya-Yuan Cheng comes to Whole Health Clinic as a licensed Acupuncturist and Doctor of Chiropractic. She comes from a very extensive line of oriental medicine practitioners and is a fifth generation practitioner in her family!
Starting from the young age of 10, she would travel all over the province with her mother (also an oriental medicine practitioner) to provide free clinic services to those who are less fortunate. She learned early on that this was what wanted to do when she grew up.
Dr. Cheng immigrated to the U.S. after completing high school. She attended University of California, Berkeley where she earned her B.S. degree in Integrative Biology. She furthered her studies at Southern California University of Health Sciences and graduated Valedictorian of her class for her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine as well as achieving high honors for her Doctorate degree in Chiropractic.
After receiving her degrees, she was invited to teach at her alma mater as a lab instructor in anatomy, physical therapy, and chiropractic technique classes. During that time she also volunteered at Help for Brain-Injured Children (HBIC) in Whittier, CA began building her own practice.
Chiropractic adjustments are performed on the joints of the spine and extremities. When our bodies experience pain due to bad postural habits and/or overuse motions due to work or activity, the joints and associated musculature will react by getting stiff, which is a precursor for pain. A chiropractor is trained to locate these joints of stiffness and apply a chiropractic adjustment to relieve the pressure and tension built-up within the joint—resulting in decreased pain and increased satisfaction.
If you have experienced a car accident, sports injury or are suffering from ailments such as back pain, neck pain or recurring headaches, then a visit to the chiropractor is the first step in addressing the problem and preventing any further injuries from occurring. A chiropractic evaluation can determine how many treatments may be necessary, as well as targeting the specific areas that require the most focused attention. Plans can be altered during the course of treatment—as the chiropractor sees fit—based on the patient’s progress. Incorporating massage therapy techniques in addition to regular chiropractic adjustments and possible administration of therapeutic rehab will further help to ease soreness and pain in the body.
Therapeutic Rehabilitation
Therapeutic rehabilitation is a highly effective form of care that bridges the gap from injury to normal function. It is utilized to identify inefficient biomechanical motions in joints that are present due to pain. After an assessment is conducted, our practitioners will recommend the proper exercises and stretches to correct the biomechanical breakdowns that are detected. These exercises help your body stay in balance and will help to maintain individual wellness. In addition, most if not all of the exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home. Paper format exercise sheets are available for all patients.
Massage
Massage therapy serves as a natural conservative treatment approach that decreases musculoskeletal tension and relieves muscle pain. Our office provides a wide variety of massage techniques including (list here) that is designed to cater to the patient’s condition and injury. The benefits of massage therapy include increasing blood circulation, reducing swelling, relaxing muscles, relieving muscle pain and spasms, and aid in recovery and range of motion.

Amazing clinic! The doctors are so patient minded and whole body healing. Also wonderful bedside manner and very caring to individual needs.
Massages are amazing, in the best I’ve ever had category. Jimena especially is amazing. Her massage technique have helped my ailments and I couldn’t say enough great things about her. Wonderful bedside manner, soooooo skilled and knows how to work and cure the body via massage. A true asset. I even moved farther away, tried to find a masseuse near my new place, no one compares! I drive 30mins now to see her and would drive even further! Your body will thank you! 5 stars!
Love this place, a truly wonderful and healing experience every time. Completely recommend!

Love love love! The entire staff is friendly and sooooo good! I do come here and utilize my insurance although they do take people without. Call in to inquire what a massage or acupuncture procedure will be.
I have done massage, cupping, acupuncture and realignment. And really their massage…. I feel is so much better than spas. You may not get a spa amenities but really I never use them. I’ll take a massage that really works out my knots, aches, and pain.
The rooms are calming. The facility location has plenty of parking spots since it shares a plaza location with el burrito Jr., the new albertsons, guillianos.

Dr. Hong is everything I didn’t know I needed! Being pregnant and having never been to a chiropractor before, I was a little hesitant. More than one person recommended her to me, so I decided to try it.
I went in to begin aligning my body for birth, but even after just one session, I’ve already gained so much more! My sleep has improved, I can take deep breaths again, and it feels like baby has much more space. Overall, I feel lighter and much more nimble than before.
I will be continuing to visit Whole Health Clinic throughout my pregnancy and probably afterwards too! Worth every penny.

I was experiencing extreme back pain (couldn’t sit down or walk) and a co-worker referred me to Dr. Kim. They took me in the same day I called, Dr. Kim examined me and treated me while explaining what was going on (basically lots of stress that resulted in extreme muscle tightness). After the treatment I was already able to move and the following day I was pain-free! I will certainly be coming back and referring new patients!

I’ve been going to Whole Health for almost a month for pain relief of my shoulders, neck, and back. Dr. Kim’s active release therapy in addition to chiropractic care has increased my mobility and decreased pain. The remarkable improvements in such a short amount of time is encouraging. I’m looking forward to the gains I can make in the next few months so I can return to my active lifestyle.
Dr. Chen has a great bedside manner and has used acupuncture to help insomnia, digestive issues, and stress related issues.
I’ve only had one massage treatment with Aubrey. It was one if the best massages that I’ve gotten. She focused on my chest and shoulder area, areas that are frequently overlooked in normal massage therapy sessions.

This review is so long overdue I probably owe her ten of these reviews!
I’ve known Dr. Hong for years. I first met her when she was at her super old location. She has treated my mother, father, wife and I am certain she will treat my children. Heck, she can treat my grandchildren and great-grandchildren as long she is around! She’s legit and a really amazing person. If you have ANY physical pain, do yourself a favor and go to her clinic FIRST!
Her clinic is unique in that she treats underlying issues to your pain.
Normally there is immediate relief like the time I went to her because my hand was twitching uncontrollably or when my sciatica had me in immense pain or when my wife’s wrist seemed so painful she was destined to have surgery if Dr. Hong had not intervened. My mother’s back was bowed over like the grinch, and yep…Dr. Hong to the rescue. I took my father and I think he just wanted to go because some young doctor was attentive, but at the end of the day, Dr. Hong and her clinic, fellow doctors and front desk people are kind, effective, smart, and provide a great experience.
